Fractional
Profit relative to stake. 3/2 means $3 profit for every $2 staked, plus your stake back.
American
Positive shows profit on a $100 stake; negative shows the stake needed to win $100.
What is a Trixie Bet?
A Trixie is a full cover bet consisting of 4 bets from 3 selections: 3 doubles and 1 treble. At least 2 of your 3 selections must win for any return.
Breakdown
- 3 × Doubles (AB, AC, BC)
- 1 × Treble (ABC)
- Total: 4 bets
Why Choose a Trixie?
Unlike a treble, a Trixie still pays out if only 2 of your 3 selections win. This safety net comes at the cost of a higher total stake (4× your unit stake vs 1×), but gives you 3 chances to land a winning double.
Example
$2 Trixie on A (2.00), B (3.00), C (4.00). Total stake: $8.
- If all 3 win: 3 doubles ($12 + $16 + $24 = $52) + treble ($48) = $100 (profit $92)
- If 2 win (A and C): 1 winning double ($16) = $16 (profit $8)
- If 1 or 0 win: No return — lose $8
Trixie vs Patent
A Patent adds 3 singles to the Trixie, giving 7 bets. This means 1 winner gives a return, but costs 3 more units of stake. Choose the Trixie when you are fairly confident at least 2 will win.
