What is a Sitter Bet?

A Sitter combines doubles and trebles from 4 or more selections. It provides moderate coverage without the higher-fold accumulators, keeping the total stake lower than a full cover bet.

How It Works

From 4 selections, a Sitter typically includes all 6 doubles and all 4 trebles — the same as a Yankee (11 bets). From 5+ selections, it scales accordingly, always including doubles and trebles but excluding four-folds and above.

Sitter vs Full Cover

The Sitter is essentially a “partial cover” bet. You get the most likely winning combinations (doubles are easiest to land) plus trebles for a balance of frequency and return size.

Example

$1 Sitter from 5 selections at 2.50 (10 doubles + 10 trebles = 20 bets, $20 stake):

  • If 3 win: 3 doubles ($18.75) + 1 treble ($15.63) = $34.38 (profit $14.38)
  • If 2 win: 1 double = $6.25 (loss of $13.75)
