What is a Rounder Bet?

A Rounder consists of 3 any-to-come (ATC) bets from 3 selections in a circular pattern: A→B, B→C, C→A. Each selection, if it wins, uses the returns as the stake on the next selection in the chain.

Breakdown

  • Bet 1: Stake on A. If A wins → returns go onto B
  • Bet 2: Stake on B. If B wins → returns go onto C
  • Bet 3: Stake on C. If C wins → returns go onto A
  • Total: 3 bets

How It Differs from a Treble

In a treble, all 3 must win. In a Rounder, each conditional chain is independent — if A wins but B loses, the A→B chain stops, but the B→C and C→A chains are separate. You can get returns from any chain where consecutive selections win.

Example

$5 Rounder on A (2.00), B (3.00), C (4.00). Total stake: $15.

  • Chain A→B: A wins ($10) → $5 on B at 3.00 = $15. This chain returns $15
  • Chain B→C: B wins ($15) → $5 on C at 4.00 = $20. This chain returns $20
  • If all 3 win, all 3 chains complete for combined returns
