What is a Perm Patent?

A Perm Patent takes 4 selections and creates every possible Patent (7-bet) combination from groups of 3. With 4 selections, there are 4 possible groups of 3, giving 4 × 7 = 28 bets.

How It Works

Your 4 selections (A, B, C, D) form these Patents:

  • Patent 1: A, B, C (7 bets)
  • Patent 2: A, B, D (7 bets)
  • Patent 3: A, C, D (7 bets)
  • Patent 4: B, C, D (7 bets)

Total: 28 bets. Note: some individual bets (like the single on A) appear in multiple Patents, but they are still counted as separate bets.

Example

$1 Perm Patent (total stake: $28). If selections A, B, C win but D loses:

  • Patent 1 (ABC): Full return — 3 singles + 3 doubles + 1 treble all win
  • Patents 2, 3: Partial returns (2 of 3 win)
  • Patent 4 (BCD): Partial returns (2 of 3 win)
