What is a Double Stakes About?

A Double Stakes About (DSA) is similar to an SSA but with double the original stake on the conditional bet. If selection A wins, double the return goes onto selection B, and vice versa. This increases both potential returns and risk.

How It Works

With a $5 DSA (total stake: $10):

  • Bet 1: $5 on A. If A wins at 3.00, winnings ($15) go as $10 (double stake) onto B
  • Bet 2: $5 on B. If B wins at 2.50, winnings ($12.50) go as $10 onto A

DSA vs SSA

In an SSA, the conditional stake equals the original stake. In a DSA, it is doubled. This means bigger potential returns when both win, but the conditional bets are more heavily loaded.

Example

$5 DSA on A (3.00) and B (2.50):

  • If both win: A wins $15 → $10 on B at 2.50 = $25. B wins $12.50 → $10 on A at 3.00 = $30. Total: $55 from $10 staked
  • If only A wins: $15 from A, $10 conditional on B loses = $5 return ($5 loss overall)
