What is a Block Bet?

A Block bet creates every possible combination from doubles upwards across 9 or more selections. It is essentially a full cover bet without singles. The number of bets grows exponentially with selections.

How Many Bets?

For N selections, the total bets = 2^N − N − 1 (all combinations minus singles minus the empty set):

  • 9 selections: 502 bets
  • 10 selections: 1,013 bets
  • 12 selections: 4,083 bets

Block vs Full Cover with Singles

A Block excludes singles — at least 2 of your selections must win for any return. Adding singles would give a “Block with Singles” or equivalently, every possible bet from N selections.

Example

$1 Block from 9 selections at 2.00 (total stake: $502):

  • If all 9 win: Combined returns exceed $50,000
  • If 5 win: Returns from winning doubles, trebles, four-folds, and one five-fold — potentially profitable depending on odds
  • If 2 win: 1 winning double = $4 — heavy net loss
